Before you begin be sure that all OpenVMware stuff has been uninstalled
Unistall open vm tools
yum remove open-vm-tools -y
Install epel
yum install epel-release yum update
yum install perl gcc make dkms kernel-headers kernel-devel -y
That's it now mount the VMware Tools Iso. Extract the tar file and run
cd vmware-tools-distrib ./vmware-install.pl
